The British National Curriculum is a set of subjects and standards used by primary and secondary schools in the UK, so children learn a broad and varied balance of subjects and skills. It covers which subjects are taught and the standards all children should reach in each subject. We offer all the compulsory subjects and we also provide daily Spanish Lessons, to all children.
We offer individual learning plans for every child and ensure children learn in a way which is successful and beneficial to them. Lessons are planned to ensure that there are no barriers for any pupil to achieve and learn. Parents can request to see their child´s individual learning plans, at any time.
In accordance with the guideline, set out by the British Government´s Education Department, children will complete a Phonics Screening Test, at the end of Year 1. If the child fails the test, they will be required to complete it again, at the end of Year 2. We also offer continual assessment and exams in English Reading, English Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling, Maths and Spanish. We believe it is vital to check the progress of a child and monitor the success of teaching methods, to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
Our classes follow the British school term time and then we offer additional afterschool and holiday clubs, when the school is not open.
Children can attend our classes for full days or half days.
All children are required to bring a mid-morning snack. At lunchtimes, children can bring their own lunchbox and drink, and this will be stored in refrigerators to ensure all food and drink stays cool. Healthy hot meals can also be provided for €5 per day. We use a local company called Eat Smart and they provide a three-course healthy, nutritious and homemade meal, every day.
